Physical Description: Kestral is quite typical in most ways, she is 5'7 and on the thin side around 120, but she has barely any curves so she is not overly thin. Facially she is a beautiful woman but not particularly striking and certainly not to everyone's aesthetic. She has quite a thin nose, which although not of an odd or disproportionate shape is not 'cute' either. Her greeny-blue eyes are set fairly deeply with a generally straight brow-line. Her skin-tone is quite fair and overall is just average, plain and simple. She dressed simply as well; jeans, a t-shirt and a sweater for the cold days is all she needs. It's a rare occasion when she dresses up, but when she does her average looks disappear and she can be quite stunning.

Personality: Kestral is nothing if she is not stubborn. As far as backing down, that usually is not an option. The one saving grace to this is the fact that she is quite laid-back and is not one to pick a fight. If you get through her laid-back skin though and strike at her you will get what you deserve as she has a sharp tongue and enough words that she can use to make you feel an inch tall. Take it past that and she has no problem using her fists. To get her to that point though one either has to insult her basic fabric or injure those she cares for. Other that that she is a bit of a prankster and quite outgoing. She can be cocky, but usually only acts that way when she's nervous. What most people underestimate about her is the depth to which she lets things effect her. Most think she just brushes things off, but she can be hurt by words just like any other. Overall she is just an happy, hard-working woman with a good nature and a good sense of humour.
Personal History: On February 4th Mikaella and Martin Evans ushered Marlon and Marianne Evens into the world. It may already be apparent in the twins naming that the couple were young, naive, but overall loving. Martin and Mikaella had been High School sweethearts and right out of school they had married. When the mines had opened Martin had seen opportunity and had moved his new small family to Sundance with a entry level mining job waiting for him. Through sweat and toil his risk paid off and soon enough he was running his shift. Although his schooling wouldn't let him reach any higher, the modest income was more than enough for the small family. Mikaella also was a hairdresser in the basement of their home, which meant that almost everyone within their suburb knew who the Evans were. Although they weren't influential for the most part, they were well liked.

As Kestral grew up with her twin brother it was quite natural for her to be quite tomboyish in her likes and dislikes. When she was young she loved to play sports and didn't worry about getting hurt or braking something. She was already into heavily played music and was less than happy with 'poppy, bubbly stuff' as she often referred to it. Getting dressed up was a chore that Ke's mother continually had to do for family get-togethers. She disliked the colour pink and generally disliked the way girls talked and what they talked about. In Kestral's mind girls were silly when she was young. So instead she generally hung out with a group of people that most considered her brother's friends, though truth was they were just as much her friends.

Sports were Ke's thing and she was captain of not only the soccer team but the basketball team as well; she was also a fierce skateboarder, who actually spent more time on her board than she did on any actual court. These facts plus the fact that almost every single one of her close friends was a boy led others to almost forget the fact that Kestral was in fact a girl.

Unfortunately as she grew up she started to want to do some of the things that other girls did and found that when she voiced any of this, all her friends just laughed thinking she was mocking it rather than being sincere in actually wanting to expand her horizons. What she did do however, was start to study something she truly loved, architecture. There was something very appealing in the idea of building something where someone's would live... or shop... somewhere that someone just might stand back from and admire. The practicality of the field appealed so heavily to Kestral that by the time she was sixteen she knew just as much as most first year architects did.

This was about the time that she started to notice one of their friends, but in a way that she never really expected to see someone she had grown up with. Sure Kestral had dated here and there, but most of the guys that she was friends with didn't even seem to realize she was a woman. Nor did this particular friend seem to notice that she was acting differently around him. She almost boosted her level of tom-boyishness around him, not wanting him to see through her. This crush is the only thing she has never told her brother about.

By the time the virus came to the main populous of Sundance, the Twins were seventeen and they were amongst the first to lose their parents. It was a devastating shock to them both. The only positive part of that time in their lives was the fact that because they were some of the first to die, the twins had the opportunity to spend the last week with their parents. Although no one is really ever ready to say goodbye, they at least had the opportunity and they knew that with the care provided that neither had suffered. This although a small positive, became much more important as they watched the sick wrenched out of their families hands and outcasts without almost any assistance.

After the virus had run its course, everyone they knew had almost nothing left of a life. Their group of friends was just at the age where they were about to graduate, but now there was nothing left and quickly territory was being argued over. The ever practical twins decided that they would leave the city and travel north. All of their friends choose to go with them as well as a surprising number of others in the area. A friend had an old pick up truck with they packed with everything that they through would be important. Most had to walk and carry their own clothes and sleeping things as the trunk was piled with seeds that people had in their sheds, saws, blades of ever sort, a few guns, and as much lumber as they could get their hands on; as well as many other very practical things.

Upon their first night in the forest to the north they met face to face with a bear, which they managed to chase off with pure numbers. The next morning Kestral had an idea and by the next evening they had platforms built in the canopy. Slowly they build their tree forts and began to build a little society of hard-workers to the north. It was decided early that their main goal for the tribe would be to be self-sufficient. So with every month they work to become more so.
